Silas Riener // Building Other Worlds: Inside Worlds Outside Worlds at Pieter

$20 pre-register, $25 at the door

Silas Riener will lead a workshop exploring the uses of external stimuli and internal states of awareness to craft improvisational scores and new dance modalities.  Taking its cues from research from Rashaun Mitchell’s work PERFORMANCE, this workshop will develop movement patterns from a focus on where the attention lands in the body or in space, and how we control it or let it control us in order to extend ourselves beneath, throughout and beyond the space that we are in.

This workshop will be presented in conjunction with performances of PERFORMANCE by Rashaun Mitchell and Stephin Merritt at REDCAT, December 4 – 7, 2014. More information: http://www.redcat.org/event/rashaun-mitchell-and-stephin-merritt-performance
