COMMUNITY PROJECT

Ongoing with orientation by appointment or any Saturday 8am-12pm

WHAT IS IT?

The El Sereno Community Garden is open to member gardeners 7 days a week from Sunrise to Sunset. The Park area is open to the public on Saturday mornings from 8a-12p and when there are community events taking place.

PIETER PLOT

This initiative came out of conversations at our monthly community check-ins back in the Fall of 2020. Join Pieter’s gardener community and get your hands in the dirt, it feels good and it’s good for you! Plus enjoy the fruits of your labor by harvesting the fresh produce grown in the #PieterPlot.

You can bring your own plants, or tend to those brought by other gardeners. The garden also makes a lovely fresh air office or reading spot. Experienced and novice gardeners welcome!

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

We are looking for additional volunteers to steward our garden plot, with a focus on watering and weeding at least once a week during the hotter summer months. You will need to have one orientation meeting to get acquainted with the garden after which you will have keycode access to the garden during open hours. If you decide to drop in during a Saturday morning orientation, be sure to introduce yourself to the garden coordinators and let them know you’re joining the Pieter gardener community to be shown the plot.

If you’re interested in participating, email pieterpasd@gmail.com for orientation information and to be connected with the other gardeners. Hope to see you in the soil soon!

El Sereno Community Garden is located at 5466 Huntington Dr N, Los Angeles, CA 90032

Accessibility Note: All entrances are wheelchair accessible and there is an ADA accessible toilet. A video tour of the garden is available HERE
