The Monday Morning Class Series, Curated by Stacy Dawson Stearns, has fallen in love with the NIGHT. We changed. We bid adieu to the day. Fall with us into the dark comfort of evening as we continue the ongoing exchange of body-based creative practices led by teaching artists who practice within the phases of consciousness and creation. Nourish your practice and embrace Lunacy. #getheetoclass @MNCPieter
Mar 25, Apr 1, Apr 8: Gustine Fudickar // 1-2-3 GROTOWSKI!!!! A psychophysical approach to performance training
Grotowski based work is a non threatening physical approach toward enlivening the heart-body-mind complex. Through set physical forms, known as The Cat, The Plastiques, and Corporels, ; we uncover personal habits and perceived blockages in order to explore potential for creative transformation. We recognize our desires/aversions and we learn how to be fully present in the very full presence of others. This work wakes up your instincts, your imagination, your emotions, your demons & your angels– feeling the fire of creativity on every level!!! https://culture.pl/en/artist/jerzy-grotowski
Class #1- Cat & Mouse
We will deep dive into the form known as The Cat and begin to work with additional Corporel forms, cushioning the work with Body Mind Centering technique and ensemble unification practices based on the improvisational work developed by artist Barbara Dilley.

Plunging into the wide world of The Platiques, Old School Style( super Grotowski).Get ready to sweat!! Here we will get into the nuts and bolts of these Plastique isolations and dive into what is known as River work. I will be providing the same somatic and improvisational bookends as in the previous class.
Class # 3-What’s This Contd’?
In this class we will review The Cat, The Corporels and The Plastiques and will then open up to larger River work that includes all 3 practices. It is here we begin to introduce or parse out what it feels like to be both in the doing and in the observing simultaneously.
Gustine Fudickar is a Louisiana native living & working in Los Angeles as teacher, performer, choreographer, & director. Much of her work as performer involves a re-evaluation of classic Americana and her place in it both as woman and character. She has spent the last 17 years investigating physical theatre practices with a primary focus on Grotowski inspired/based inquiry. Most recently it lead her to the island of Koufonisi to work with loving mentor, Erica Fae, on how these practices serve not only as inroads to an actor/performer’s process, but ultimately guide practitioners into deep personal transformation. Gustine is currently working with Justin Streichman on a series of film projects entitled “Stupid Scores” and directing a condensed version of Much Ado About Nothing for the Wildwood School.
