A New Twist on Turning . . .
How to Create Both Pleasure and Power in Movement Through The Skeleton’s Relationship to Gravity
Sunday, August 28
9:30am – 12:30pm
Workshop is limited to 12 participants – $75/participant
We generally take turning for granted — we learned to do it as babies. How we turn can make for a stiff, difficult or painful movement — or, the experience of an enjoyable, potent flow of sensations in our bodies.
This workshop will focus that enjoyable, potent flow by examining how we can use the skeleton more powerfully in relation to gravity. Since our skeletons evolved within gravity to allow for optimal movement (we are the only hominid species that was able to run long distances), we will examine the essential function of turning, through Feldenkrais lessons and movement explorations, that awakens a sense of ease and power in all movements. The lessons are designed to make us smarter, more creative, better problem solvers AND to turn and move with pleasure.
Come for a morning of exploration, play and powerful competence!
