Che cosa è che ragazzi volete, Pontiac Catalinas? Un’altra bolla del sogno Hollywood spuntato. Derviscio turbinante. Bambino sporco. Perorare la pazzia perché I sono solo pazza di quella bambina
Insitut IDGAF “MAKE MAKE MAKE” and zero fucks given. Its motion devotion. Just a lil ole baby with two mommies: Collaborators Samantha Allen and Devika Wickremesinghe egg each other on to practice making with spontaneity and humor, from coast2coast.
Institut IDGAF is a feminist movement of creation without censorship, explanation or apology. The Institut bestows generous financial support and hefty ca$h money grants to artists in need, just ask.
Sam Allen is a full-time feeler. She works with words, grooves with moves and collaborates daily with cascascascas. Easy’s her main squeeze, but obstacles abound and won’t slow her down. Sam loves alliteration, puns and puppies. She lives with her sweet crew in Brooklyn.
Joh Kirk is a dance -maker, -doer and -writerabouter. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Dance and has taught courses in Experiential Anatomy, Yoga and Dance to a wide variety of learners on three continents. She is thrilled to be back in the USA and making and moving on the West Coast with ladies who she loved on the East Coast.
Devika Vasantha Wickremesinghe is the biggest name in Hollywood. She was a staple of Italian television variety shows and a dominant figure in Italian pop music from the mid-1960s to mid-1970s. In NYC she danced with numerous luminaries such as K.J. Holmes, Jill Sigman/thinkdance, Vanessa Justice, Buck Wanner, ann and alexx make dances, Ana Isabel Keilson, and Mariangela Lopez/ACCIDENTAL MOVEMENT. Devika is a new member of Alexx Shilling’s Modern Dancers of America and in LA has had the pleasure of dancing in the work of Sarah Leddy and Laurel Jenkins. TV credits include: I WAS A TEENAGE DERVISH (1993), and THE GIRL ALWAYS DID HAVE GOOD TASTE (2006)
Madison Page is a Modern Dancer of America. She has done a ton of shit in LA and just turned 25. She has the pleasure of working with the greatest teachers, friends, and choreographers Laurel Tentindo (Image Action Text), Alexx Shilling (Absence, A History + The Other Side of Stillness) Maria Garcia (Moon River) and is a member of Kevin Williamson + company. She is featured in the visual art of Howard Fried (Decomposition of my Mother’s Body), and Jennifer Bornstein in her work for the 2014 Whitney Biennial (Untitled). Madison is also the Media Director at Pieter Performance Space in Lincoln Heights, and in spring of this year she will premier a new work at Pieter with collaborator and friend Barry Brannum. Big ups to Big Freeda and Devika for basically being her red lipstick buddy wild wolf spirit animal and trainer.
