Beginning Horton Technique Class with Alex Floyd
Strengthen, Stretch, Control, Dance
Horton technique, a modern dance founded by Lester Horton, is a rehabilitative exercise to strengthen the body and create the most versatile and powerful dancer. Alex has been training in Horton technique since childhood with teachers such as: Milton Myers, Bernard Gaddis, Lawrence Jackson, and Jacob Mora. Her hour long beginning Horton class is accessible for all people of all ages and abilities. It is built around the simplistic foundation of a Horton warm up, and includes strengthening, stretching, coordination, control, and fun of course! Come get strong!
Alex grew up exploring her backyard mountains of Colorado and studying dance from a young age. She trained in all styles from African to ballet with Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble’s Summer Intensive, AXIS Dance, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Wyoming. Alex danced to Los Angeles where she started her own company, OdDancity, to do with whatever she pleases, and that happens to be quite strange but BOLD.
