gather
Saturday March 7, 8:30pm

Sound score by Laura Vitale (Timber Timbre sampled)

The studio is a potential space that changes shape depending on what fills it.Tonight it becomes a collapsible cave that we can take with us when we go.

“gather” represents the practice of recollecting broken, lost and suppressed pieces of something once complete. It is a mode of unlearning. It is a play between rigid form, the body at rest, and what lies in between. It is an exploration of internal and external landscapes, containment and transience. It is influenced by the barren lands between destinations, mythological wild-women, ballet & spirals, self-care practices, Ana Mendieta’s “silueta series” and hidden desert caves.

This work is an expansion of a solo made for Last Summer Day at Pieter.
