Rebecca Green

Rebecca is a choreographer and performer who began her formal training in Seattle, Washington where she attended Cornish College of the Arts. She studied with movement artists such as Michele Miller, Wade Madsen and performed in Alia Swersky’s large scale site specific work Beneath Our Own Immensity in 2012. Rebecca then began her training at California Institute of the Arts where along with several stage works, she devised, directed and choreographed two large-scale multimedia dance productions which she received an Interdisciplinary Arts Grant to create. Her work has been presented at Redcat, Highways Performance Space and The Sharon Disney Lund Theater along with dance for camera works presented internationally.

Rebecca studied at London Contemporary Dance School where she had the opportunity to work with Kid Pivot’s Crystal Pite for three weeks during the creation of the new work Polaris which Rebecca performed at Sadler’s Wells theater in London. She has also performed in works by two time Princess Grace Award winner Zoe Scofield, Kate Wallich of the YC, CalArts alumni Rebecca Lemme and Seattle’s Kt Niehoff. Rebecca is endlessly thankful for the support of her loved ones and will continue striving to make honest, engaging and challenging work.

Rebecca is currently exploring ideas surrounding memory and transference memory.  Rebecca is interested in virtuosic movement with bodily and cerebral intelligence as a origin.

Rebecca is interested in what inspires people to move and how to share that with everyone. She has recently returned from a 2 week intensive training with RubberbanDANCE company and is feeling very inspired.

Rebecca is also a photographer specializing in music and dance performance photography.
