of James Kidd Studio’s contribution to Made in L.A. 2014

When: Friday August 8th at 5pm and Saturday August 9th at 12pm
Show is FREE. Parking in the Lot underneath The Hammer Museum is only $3 per day, per car.

Rebeca will be an artist in residency at Universidad de Guadalajara this upcoming fall. Rebeca screened her short dance film Jaripeo Cabaret, performed and taught in the international dace forum Performatica in Mexico this past spring. Rebeca’s piece Beyond Control was part of Carolina Caycedo’s 18th Street Arts Center’s Artist Lab Series in Los Angeles (November 2013), and was part of Rebeca’s summer 2013 UCLA Hothouse Dance Residency Program. As a recipient of a 2012 National Performance Network/PAP – Los Angeles DCA/CEI program, Rebeca had a residency in Mexicali, Mexico. Rebeca has choreographed and performed in the following venues and events in Los Angeles: Pacific Standard Time’s Tresspass Parade; PERFORM! NOW!; L.A. Road Concerts; 24thPerformance Art Space; MexiCali Art Biennial at Otis College of Art and Design and the Vincent Price Art Museum. Internationally, Rebeca performed as a soloist for the Festival de Danza Contemporánea de Cabaret in Mexico City (2011 and 2013). She also took a group of L.A dancers to Mexicali and Tijuana to perform for the MexiCali Art Biennial in 2009 and 2010 and for the Dia Internacional de la Danza in 2013. Rebeca has a B.A. in World Arts and Cultures/Dance from UCLA.
