Living in Desmadre

Join us for an eight week series on Monday nights at Pieter where we explore desmadre (messiness) as embodiment. Collectively, we will immerse ourselves in a fusion of Latin social dance techniques, dialogue, affect, and rasquache movement formations as a way of reveling in (un)known sites of belonging and dancing.

The classes will be composed of the different elements that our collective uses to contextualize our experiences. Come revel in quebradita stylings, salsa aesthetics, poc-chuc technique, and hybrid formations.

All levels class. Feel free to jump in whenever you can.

June 15: Latin Contemporanio – Rosita
June 22: Quebradita – Irvin
June 29: PGDC Collective Dance:
Please join PGDC members Alfonso Cervera, Irvin Gonzalez, Patricia Huerta, and Rosa Rodriguez-Frazier in our last sharing of our collective social dance practices Poc-Chuc, Quebradita, Salsa, and Latin Contemporanio. This closing is meant to end our series with members who have followed us throughout this dance series and those new. All welcomed from beginning to advanced.
