Moving big even in small spaces, we will weave inner with outer, dancing between fullness and emptiness, through grief, anger and joy; moving together with the intention of finding clarity, connection, purpose, action.
This workshop is grounded in the somatic form of Bartenieff Fundamentals, and movement practices designed to engage with ourselves and one another, and with the world.
Sarah Leddy is a Los Angeles-based choreographer, educator, and Laban / Bartenieff Movement Specialist who uses movement to initiate dialogue about what it means to live in our current world. Often commenting on the act of performing and using humor as a choreographic device, her dances have been presented at Gold Series, REDCAT Studio, and Pennington Dance Group’s Dance Dialogues. She has choreographed for Cornerstone Theater Company, and mentored young choreographers at Shakespeare Center L.A.’s Will Power to Youth program. Sarah earned an M.F.A. from UCLA’s World Arts and Cultures / Dance program, and a Certification in Laban / Bartenieff Movement Analysis from Integrated Movement Studies. She teaches dance at Pasadena City College.
