Pieter Immersion Program

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Pieter Immersion Program!

The Pieter Immersion Program is an opportunity to participate in, support, and shape the virtual offerings of Pieter Performance Space. Pieter is a platform based on holistic support for all bodies, an open exchange of ideas, and a reciprocity of generosity. The Pieter Immersion Program builds on the contributions of community members who have infused the space with their own interests and experiences through former iterations of the work-exchange internship program.

Immersion participants will be immersed in Pieter’s class, workshop and event programs, along with a community of artists, healers, and activists experimenting with a diversity of approaches to body-based practice. In exchange for your time and energy, Pieter will offer unlimited free classes and workshops for the duration of your time in the program.

Work areas:

  • Support online Pieter classes and workshops by working closely with teaching artists, greeting students, tracking attendance, sharing announcements, assisting with tech, and other support as needed
  • Assist in promoting Pieter programming by creating and gathering class & workshop documentation, contributing to content library, and drafting social media posts

  • Work on an independent project based on your interests and Pieter’s needs with the support and mentorship of Pieter staff, board, and/or community members

Commitments:

  • 3-month commitment

  • 7 hours a week available for tasks & responsibilities

  • Flexible schedule with at least some overlap with Pieter class and workshop schedule

  • Access to Internet, a device, and a basic Zoom account

At Pieter, we believe that bodies are political and that dancers are agents of change. We strongly encourage applications from Black and Indigenous people, people with intersecting identities – LGBTQIA+, women and non-binary people, people living with disabilities and others with lived experience being part of marginalized communities.

All are welcome and invited to fill out the Interest Form, which you can find HERE. Priority for participation in the Pieter Immersion Program is given to people who wish to experience something new and who’ve been unable to access Pieter classes or workshops in the past.
