Studio Rental Info

  • When you arrive at 2701 N Broadway the main, street-level entrance may be open, but if it’s not, here’s what to do:

    There are two lock boxes on either side of the main entrance outside. Pieter’s lockbox is on the right hand side. If you arrive at the building and it is locked, open the Pieter lockbox using the code in your reminder email. Use the key to open the door and then immediately replace it back into the lockbox outside. Be sure to scramble the lockbox code before going inside

  • The second floor stairwell doors and dance studio doors all have keyless entry units. You will enter this code into the keypad at the top of the stairs, and again outside of the dance studio. The keycode for these doors is updated weekly and is located in your 24 hr reminder email.

    PLEASE NOTE: The doors must be properly aligned to lock. It will beep at you if it isn’t aligned so the metal lock mechanisms can close. It can be a bit sticky, but please be sure that it is locked when you close the door.

    Turning this knob on the inside of the studio unlocks the doors so you can exit. Doors will auto lock within 10 seconds so make sure you have the code if you leave the studio mid rental!

  • The elevator is located on the ground floor, to the left of the lobby stairs. To use it you will enter the elevator and use the floor buttons to type in the code. The code for the elevator is located in your 24 hr reminder email.

  • • Chairs are available for use and located in the hallway next to the side studio entrance. Please return chairs to their original location at the end of your rental.

    • Masks, COVID tests and health information is available and FREE outside the restrooms, courtesy Gender Justice LA.

    • You are welcome to use our chalk sandwich board to direct people to your class. Please keep it inside the lobby or 2nd floor areas and return it to the lobby, next to the mailboxes when you are finished. Please wipe both sides before leaving so it is ready for the next person who uses it. Chalk and eraser should be kept where chalkboard is stored, in the lobby.

    • Free Boo is a Pieter free boutique that encourages you to leave something and/or take something. Please be mindful of keeping the boutique tidy after you or your co-renters peruse it.

    • We are in the process of building a Community Kitchenette in the hallway just outside the emergency exit. Currently we have a hot/cold water dispenser you are free to use with your own water bottles/cups. This water is provided as a courtesy but may not always be in service as the volume of renters fluctuates weekly. Please bring your own water as well.

  • Wifi:

    Speakers/Sound:

    • Turn on both speakers by flipping the switch on the back of each component.

    • Do not adjust volume/settings or move speakers or other AV equipment.

    Pairing your device to Bluetooth:

    • Open "Settings" on your device

    • Go to "Bluetooth"

    • Make sure "Bluetooth" is on

    • Press the "Pair" button on the LEFT SPEAKER only

    • Wait for V2308 to appear in your device list

    • Click V2308

    • You're ready!

    Playing directly from your device:

    • Use the “aux” cord attached to the LEFT SPEAKER.

    • Aux cord has three options for device connections.

    Notes:

    • Please DO NOT adjust volume on speakers

    • On weekdays (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) keep sound low to avoid sound spill with floormates.

    • Leave your device on the AV table for seamless playback

    • If you want to switch devices, turn the bluetooth off on the one currently paired to the mixer to allow a new device to pair.

    **Please turn off both speakers before you leave!**

  • **PLEASE REMEMBER TO TURN HEATING/COOLING OFF BEFORE LEAVING THE SPACE**

    After your booking please manually lock the glass door at the top of the staircase using the white lock button. Make sure it is securely locked and and exit using the elevator across from the restrooms. You do not need to enter the code to descend on the elevator.
