Bio: Isis Avalos-Perez is a Mother, Movement Artist from South Texas, based on Tongva land AKA Los Angeles. Avalos holds a BFA from the University of North Texas. She toured nationally & internationally as a Company Performing/Teaching Artist for almost 7 years. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of Latin Social Dance at Los Angeles Valley College and a DEI Facilitator with Courage Collective. She has been involved as an Arts leader with various organizations; ShowBoxLA, LA County Arts Ed Collective, Arts for LA and most recently has shared her artistry at The Getty and MOLAA. Her movement aesthetic relating to her Mexican Heritage, Afro-Latine rhythms, House dance influence and Modern release informs the intersections of existing in the "in-between". Her lived experience from growing up on the Borderland as a previously undocumented immigrant is a foundational driving force of movement exploration for Isis and continues to fuel her work as an Artist and Cultural Worker.

The space is located on the 2nd floor with one flight of stairs directly up from the entrance. Elevator access is available; please email pieterpasd@gmail.com prior to event if you will be using it. The elevator is spacious enough for any mobility device and the 2nd floor space is free of any steps or mobility barriers. There are no automated doors in the building. There are two all-gender restrooms with three private stalls and a urinal. Each restroom has one stall accessible for mobility device users.Free parking is available directly behind our building at 2412 Workman Street. There are two additional free city lots south of Broadway on Workman Street. There is also ample metered parking in the neighborhood, free after 6pm or 8pm, depending on the street.Have questions or need additional accommodations?
