Description: Kapoeira de N’gola Preto Velho presents Capoeira de N’gola. Kapoeira de N’gola or Capoeira de Angola is a Bantu art form from the southern Kongo empire, today known as N’gola or Angola, imported to Brazil via trans Atlantic human trafficking. It is a sport of balance, balancing music, dance, magician-ship, & fighting. Though this art can be dangerous it’s not a fight. This is an art of building community, so fighting is frowned upon even though there are aspects of fighting.

What to expect: Must wear pants & t shirt or shirt that can be tucked in. The training is usually divided into two parts.

Part 1: Music: (45min/1hour)

Class usually starts off with music first. Students are required to learn all the instruments of Kapoeira de N’gola, & learn the songs.

Part 2: Movement: (45min/1hour)

The second part is the Movement. In this class we will learn the foundational movements of the art form. Movements are mostly slow & low to the ground.
