Description: Let the Devil Devour Me is an experimentation devoted to intervening on the Subject's compulsion to amend their subjectivity on behalf of the Other. Transmutation free from the pressure of the spectator. Performance unencumbered by the imaginary demands inherent to the frame. A selfhood expressed through inarticulable utterance. An art practice which locates itself as a mirror image of the Subjects' drive toward freedom. Previously the artists collaborated on TITLED ARC, which began as a re-interpretation of scenes from film and tv in which Trans and/or Queer characters were played by Cis and/or straight actors. This performance is a cosmic continuation of that performance, centering the artist's experience rather than re-occupying an historic dead space.

Camila Camaleón is a paradigm shifter and TransFemme Queer archivist based in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Ángeles. Her spatial exploration centers bridge-building via joy, playfulness, and power as 2SLGBTQIA+ to the center. In the main narrative of LA County the San Gabriel Valley region is often forgotten, and it is her artistic desire to spark change in the landscapes and soundscapes that are beyond this world. Her gallery debut in 2021 was powered by Reach La’s exhibit, Movement Through Cataclysms, a photo exhibition highlighting trans thought and contestación, Black queer intimacy, and Indigenous futurity. Last April she completed a 6 week residency collaboration at Pieter Performance Space, hosted by The Box LA, which explored film and television trans characters that were played by cis and/or het actors. Last June she joined Celebration Theatre’s first run of Tales of the Transcestors. Tales of the Transcestors, part of the 2022 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Outside of the performance space, she is a multi-fascinated writer, community advocate, and Board President for the SGV LGBTQ+ Center.
